Three Beatles songs in 1965 -- is that cheating, or simply an inevitability? What do you think?

I think Scott's right - there's a Paul song, a George song, and a John song. I think there was some rare combination of the culture and the people that combined like rocket fuel, a torch, and a vacuum that made rock from about '65 through '68 just incredibly creative and explosively powerful. So many of these songs not only are still listened to, and not just by oldies-loving nostalgists, but are still influential and inspirational. (The CAPTCHA tag is "musebecu" - indeed, these folks really did see the muse those years...)
